International Haematology Conference with Joint Research and Education Meetings

Haematology is a diverse specialty embracing clinical and laboratory aspects of adult and paediatric disease, both malignant and non-malignant.  The conference will deal with the progress and innovations that have been made in diagnostic and therapeutic strategies in haematology. Molecular advances are continuing at a phenomenal rate  - exceeding the rate of progress in therapeutics, offering highly sensitive methods for disease detection and, in some disorders, prospects of cure through gene therapy.    In addition, haematopoietic disorders are often driven by genetic mutations and epigenetic alterations. New advanced technologies including next-generation sequencing, ultra-deep PCR and whole-genome and exome sequencing were proved very efficient in detecting several mutations implicated in the pathogenesis of haematological diseases. Emerging evidence indicates that genomic data can be useful in all aspects of clinical practice including diagnosis, prognosis and prediction of response to specific treatments, as well as in the development of novel targeted treatments for patients with haematological disorders.  Hence, the conference will embrace these trends and issues in various sessions. 

The provisional programme for the conference series can be found below:

TOTAL HOURS OF PROCEEDINGS AND TRAINING, EXCLUDING REGISTRATION, TEA/COFFE BREAKS AND LUNCH:   32 Hours and 30 Minutes for four days (8 Hours and 7+ Minutes Per Day). 

Please note that the topics stated on the above provisional programme may change and can be presented and sessions taking place on the other days of the conference, as topics are grouped in themes per day.  Please refer to the final programme in the conference pack for the event in due course.  

The format of the conference includes key note speaking/lecture, presentations of research or projects carried by delegates from different parts of the World, workshops, and interactive sessions for all delegates to participate in, and learn together in an informal environment.  There are also plenty of opportunities for networking and making new friends.  The Provisional Programme can be found above.

The Joint SMC and IAHCP Conference Centre venue, Thurrock, Near London is handy for some of the UK's biggest shopping centres not to mention central London. The M25 is only a couple of miles away making it easy to reach tourist attractions and business venues. Guests and families can go into central London and Greater London to some must-see venues like Madame Tussauds or the London Eye, or shop in the West End or at Lakeside Shopping Centre (one mile away) or Bluewater shopping Centre (5 miles away) or Grays Town Centre (about three miles away). Accreditation: 

The Conference and educational meetings are accredited by various professional bodies.  So participants will receive attendance certificates, including Continuous Medial Education (CME) and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Certificates.  The CME and CPD points are between 24 to 100 points depending on number of sessions attended.

Please note that all submitted and accepted abstracts will be published in the Conference official Book of Proceedings, with ISSN and available in the British Library and other libraries internationally.

Participants would also have the opportunity of publishing their full papers in one of the Association's Medical Journals if they are of high quality and after going thruogh the double blinded peer review process.
