Profile of Dr Reiner Brenthelthaler

Dr.Reiner Brettenthaler was born in 1944 in Salzburg. He graduated from University of Vienna in Medical studies. He is a self-employed general practitioner in Elixhausen near Salzburg since 1975.

Since 1980, he was the President of the Medical Chamber of Salzburg. Between 1990 and 2003, he became the First Vice-President of the Austrian Medical Chamber. And since June 2003, he has been promoted to the President of the Austrian Medical Chamber. In the meantime, he is also the Head of the International Department of the Austrian Medical Chamber.

Dr Reiner Brettenthaler is Austrian Delegate, respectively Head of Delegation of the Austrian Medical Chamber in different European medical bodies (CEOM, UEMO, CPME, EANA,Member of the Liaison Committee of the EFMA/WHO) as well as the World Medical Association.

He is the President of the EFMA/WHO Forum in 2002, the President of CPME (Standing Committee of European Doctors) for 2002 and 2003 and the Vice-President of UEMO (European Union of General Practitioners) for 2004 - 2008.
